On the other hand, the app is a bit on the heavy side when it comes to battery life. If that wasn't enough, it's a great source of schadenfreude for any unsuspecting pranksters who troll your network. Its streamlined user interface makes navigating around the network a breeze. While the app's latest and greatest iteration is still a work in progress, its eponymous predecessor is ready to go a notch or two. While you're at it, you might as well consider the merits of the egregiously named macSentry v1.0. To be sure, a new Mac is not the be all end all, but a MacSentry aficionado will never be without their trusty steed. Fortunately, the company has been pretty good at keeping them hidden from sight, at least for now. Aside from the aforementioned ubiquity, the company has also dabbled in Windows desktop notifications a la Google's Chrome browser. MacSentry is not short on desktop notifications. You can use it for a secure Mac experience, whether you're at home or abroad. There are a number of features in MacSentry that make it a worthwhile investment. Plus, it is approved by the National Security Agency. It is recommended by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. While 256-bit encryption is not the only encryption solution out there, it is the most common and widely used. Using a virtual private network like PureVPN is another step in the right direction. These security measures are all critical parts of the larger security picture. To protect your data, you should invest in antivirus software, firewalls, and multifactor authentication. If you're traveling or using public Wi-Fi networks, you should always encrypt your connection. If a hacker or cracker tries all of the possible combinations, it will take trillions of years to decipher the data.Ģ56-bit encryption is a great way to protect your privacy and online activities from hackers. Several federal agencies use this standard to encrypt confidential and classified information.īecause of its long key length, 256-bit AES encryption is the most secure option available. The US government, for example, requires all data to be 256-bit encrypted. For example, a hacker or cracker would need to try 2256 combinations to break a 256-bit encrypted message.ĭespite the increased time it takes to decrypt, 256-bit encryption is still the most secure encryption standard available. However, it takes more time to decrypt the data. A 2048-bit RSA key would take 6.4 quadrillion years to calculate.Ĭompared to 128-bit encryption, 256-bit encryption is twice as secure. Whether you're browsing the Internet, sending emails, or conducting financial transactions online, 256-bit encryption is essential.Įven the fastest computers cannot break 256-bit symmetric keys. This includes 256-bit AES encryption, which offers the highest security available. You can choose the level of protection you need to use. In order to protect information from unauthorized access, MacSentry offers rock-solid encryption. Users can also find out where their Mac apps are connecting, and easily delete files from their hard drive. It includes features such as disk manager, P2P support, and unlimited bandwidth. MacSentry is a powerful VPN solution designed for the Apple operating system. You will also find that it has 256-bit encryption. It's based in Belize, and has a money-back guarantee. These require both the tablet and the OnePlus phone to be on OxygenOS 13.1. Multi-Screen Connect can also exploit this connection to do things like screen mirroring, content sync (clipboard, media), and app relay, which is OnePlus's version of Apple's Handoff feature. To make up for this, OnePlus has included Cellular Data Sharing, which lets you share your OnePlus phone's cellular data by just having the phone close by and being signed into the same OnePlus account. The OnePlus Pad does not feature cellular connectivity, which may be a deal breaker for some. This is worth remembering before purchasing any Android tablet, not just the OnePlus Pad. As it stands now, tablet Android as a laptop replacement is pretty bad and a distant second behind iPadOS, which is vastly superior in every relevant metric. But they significantly diminish the value of the platform as a work machine or a laptop replacement of sorts unless you really go out of your way to work around the shortcomings. Most of these issues are inherent to Android and aren't necessarily OnePlus's fault. The result of this is you often have to fall back to using the touchscreen as that is often the best way to interface with the apps, many of which are simply not designed to be used with a mouse pointer or keyboard. The mouse pointer also behaves weirdly in some apps and can be quite inconsistent when scrolling or highlighting text. Most apps on the platform don't know how to work with common keyboard shortcuts that would work on a desktop or even the iPad, so they just sit there awkwardly and do nothing. Only an exceptionally small number of tested apps had a proper tablet UI that was designed to take full advantage of the wider canvas, and most of them just happen to be either OnePlus or Google's own apps.Īttaching a keyboard and trackpad to an Android tablet further exacerbates some of these issues. Many other apps will randomly switch to portrait mode for some instances Spotify, for example, would switch to portrait orientation when you make lyrics fullscreen. Several have a half-baked landscape mode, which is just an awkwardly stretched version of the portrait mode that makes poor use of space. Several apps do not work correctly in landscape mode, which is usually how you would use them on a tablet, especially when you have a keyboard attached. Even after all these years, most Android apps do not expect to be launched on a tablet. Unfortunately, all of this is necessary because the Android tablet experience continues to be abysmal, especially when it comes to third-party app support. This was also available for only a handful of apps, even though there were a lot more apps that this could be used for. Lastly, the Display size feature lets you pick how apps that don't support fullscreen landscape mode properly can be displayed. Unfortunately, you can only run one such app at a time, and it also doesn't work with every app.ĭual windows lets you open the same app in two different windows, but barely any app we had installed supported this feature. This feature is still limited to apps that do support split screen, but most of the apps we tried did.Īnother useful feature is flexible windows, which lets you open some apps in a small floating window on the side that can be minimized. The split screen function can be evoked by a simple two-finger swipe down. OnePlus has added some useful features to make multitasking easier. When you swipe down on a widget to scroll within the widget, the launcher will almost always choose to bring down the notifications instead. While the shortcut to pull down is convenient, it conflicts with any widgets that also have scrolling elements. On the right is where the notifications appear. On the left side are all the toggles with controls for brightness and audio playback. You can choose to swipe down on the homescreen to pull down the notifications. You can maybe have one large widget, and suddenly there is no longer any space available for even smaller ones on the side. This tends to heavily limit the number of things you can place on the homescreen especially when it comes to widgets. Regardless, the icons are all fairly spaced out, and there is also a generous amount of padding on the sides. Starting with the launcher, you have the choice of having either all icons on the homescreen like the iPad or using an app drawer. This is a lightly modified version of OxygenOS for the tablet form factor. The OnePlus Pad runs on OxygenOS 13.1 atop Android 13. The dot, however, is similar enough to a spotlight for the spotlight to be used as a proxy by photographers, film-makers and others for the gunbarrel. In the traditional gunbarrel, it is not a spotlight we see moving across the screen at the start of the gunbarrel sequence, but simply a white dot – or possibly the sights of a gun – that is transformed into the end of a gunbarrel. The use of the spotlight is itself interesting. Though short, the advert is crammed with film references, among them references to James Bond (potentially five – the pose, the dinner suit, spotlight, the helicopter and the vault). The lower part of his right arm is bent upwards, his hand resting on his chin as if he is in thought. His left arm is held against his body, his left hand tucked under his right elbow. He now wears a white dinner jacket and adopts a very familiar pose: he stands facing us, the lower part of his left leg behind his right leg. The man turns to the camera and clicks his fingers again. Keeping with the King Kong allusion, a woman stands on his open hand. The spotlight is moving around looking for him. The man clicks his fingers again, and we see him on top of a skyscraper resembling the Empire State Building like a well-groomed King Kong. The action cuts to another dark empty space, lit only by a spotlight. Our hero energetically negotiates his way around the beams – he is evidently an expert gymnast – before reaching the door to what appears to be a gold vault (shades of Goldfinger?). He clicks his fingers, and the scene switches to a dark space, criss-crossed with laser beams reminiscent of a well-known scene from Mission:Impossible. In one TV spot, we see a handsome and cool hero putting on a dinner suit. The latest advert for Paco Rabanne's One Million Privé fragrance has a distinctly Bondian look. He said, "Pick any short story you like and adapt it into a screenplay. "Ambition is crippled by lack of confidence."Īnd then, one glorious day in college, one of my writing professors asked me to write something-an adaptation. My ambition, as Ramelan so perfectly puts it, was crippled by my lack of confidence, a confidence that was born out of my perceived ability to be "original," and yet, I couldn't help but recognize my ideas in pretty much every film, book, and painting I came across. I went from making a video every day and a short film every few months to struggling to finish a single page of a screenplay because I just knew that it wasn't going to be good enough. "What if all of my work is shit?" "What if people see my work and think I'm shit?" "What if I am shit and everything I make is shit and I'll never be able to do anything other than make shit?" Clearly, this was a very shitting time in my creative life. In fact, the majority of my work was created in my first year. When I first started out as a filmmaker, I was writing screenplays and making videos and short films left and right. If this problem resonates with you, you should check out this video from Zach Ramelan, who offers up an inspirational message for those warring with the "It's Already Been Done" mentality. I mean, it wouldn't be a huge deal if this kind of thing happened every once in a while, but it's something that constantly keeps so many creatives from actually creating anything-and it's not only the fear of being redundant or unoriginal, it's also the fear of their work not measuring up to its similars. It's where you get an idea for a project, you're super psyched about it, and then all of a sudden your heart sinks as you begin to realize that, man, the idea you were so passionate about three seconds ago has been creatively realized already-and then you scrap it. Let's call it the "It's Already Been Done" mentality. There's this common mentality that creatives tend to have that keeps them from making the things they want to make. "I shouldn't do the thing I want to do because it has already been done before." Poppycock! This, of course, woke up apparently everyone in the building. Suddenly, an alicorn and reptillian animal were sent through it, crashing them, alongside Mordecai into the wall of the kitchen, causing the house to shake. Mumbling something, he opened the fridge, but it seemed as if there was a portal. Rolling his eyes, he got up, and walked towards the kitchen. While this was one of the few times Rigby won, he acted like this was something that would never happen, something Mordecai slightly disliked. The raccoon cheered, jumping up from his seat and beginning to dance. Mordecai and Rigby sitting inside of the house was, playing video games. The sun began to set in the park, where the camera zooms into a window. Suddenly, Twilight and her dragon were pulled into the portal, causing them to have been knocked out as they were teleported elsewhere from Ponyville. This caused a small portal to have summoned, and air blew each book and paper away from it's location. It began to glow purple, but suddenly, energy was fired from the paper and towards the floor. Closing her eyes, an aura surrounded the alicorn's horn, as it lifted the paper into the air. But, as she continued reading, it became a bit more simpler, now that she understood how the spell work. Twilight muttered, reading through the parchment she was sent. There was this teleportation spell that Celestia had wanted me to learn, Spike, but it seems. The camera pans and zooms toward a tree that houses Twilight Sparkle, who was reading a paper through the use of her telekinesis alongside her friend, Spike. It was a sunny day in Equestria, where everypony was peacefully walking around, all minding there own business. While that's useful, Twilight's even capable of using dark magic, which, keep in mind, is a magic that apparently many villains in the universe use, and something that she was able to do just from viewing Celestia do the same. Game and Watch: Not only that, but Twilight has learned many types of magic she's able to use! She can lift objects with her telekinesis, create large forcefields, which are able to nullify the effects of reality warping, even! Along with that, she can generate heat, and summon a large aura around herself. This allowed Twilight, who's a massive bookworm, to access nearly every book, meaning she was practically self-taught about many of the spells she learned as she grew older. Twilight Sparkle was an intelligent unicorn, who was learning about the magic that she could use, under the guide of Princess Celestia. Game and Watch: Yeah! Her name was Twilight Sparkle, and to be more precise, she's a unicorn! Cool, right? While this wasn't understood by some of it's greatest wizards, it would turn out that there would be one, of similar power, at least. ROB: Throughout history of Equestria, one force had existed within it. ROB: He's, most notably, able to use Death Kwon Do, a deadly martial arts he can casually mimic from the sight of it's technique, with moves such as the Death Block, an extremely defensive move that allows Mordecai to block even the strongest of attacks, and the Death Punch of Death, which is, as the name implies, a strong move that can cause large craters and nearly destroyed the park. Game and Watch: Obviously, not only is Mordecai pretty strong himself, but he's got many abilities and powers from his many episodes! Through this, not only has Mordecai matured, but it also granted him many things in them. ROB: Regardless, Mordecai grew up alongside his friend Rigby, and have gone on multiple misadventures with him. He's just like every other nerd, sitting on a couch all day, and getting yelled at by his boss. Game and Watch: Yeah! Like Mordecai, a blue-jay who works there. nearly nothing special, outside of their far more unusual workers. ROB: In the universe of Regular Show, there exists a regular park, with. Beyond that, the newest version has improved the battery life and testing found that it charged significantly faster while also lasting an additional two range sessions. Most obvious is the shape change, with the V2 being round as opposed to square. Having both the V1 and V2 sensors in hand, it is worth noting the changes that have been made in terms of the physical design. All of this is worth mentioning because it allows for going through a full practice session and combing over the data after, or looking at it swing-by-swing on the fly. Thankfully by utilizing a notification sound after each swing is recorded there is no confusion from needing to look at the screen before or after every swing. The actual recording process is simple, after syncing the sensor with the device the user selects the mode of recording they want (coaching/training options that focus in on a user’s area of need or straight forward recording mode) and the app is ready to go. In fact, this reviewer intentionally altered grip position on multiple calibrations and did see changes in the swing data recorded. The thing to look at here is that the calibration routine is concise and effective which should calm some fears. While that may generate concerns as to the accuracy of the data it records, particularly with speed, which will be discussed in the section on data. With each update here however, the company has implemented aspects that go beyond the swing data recorded and into how average golfers can both digest and use it to improve, it’s possibly the deepest swing analyzer app this reviewer has tested.Īn interesting thing about the Zepp is that unlike most of the other swing analysis devices, it mounts to the back of the golf glove rather than on the shaft. Zepp Golf Performance Rundown and Capabilities:Ī lot of swing analyzers brought to market have been cut and dry in giving you the data and having the user do with it what they will. It is important to note that more than just being streamlined, the entire setup and use of the app in particular is aesthetically very clean and pleasing to the eye with the right combinations of accessibility, color, and graphics. Zepp has done a tremendous job of streamlining the initial account creation and getting the user right into what this device is designed for: Recording the golf swing. Initial setup and use is simple, after charging with the included USB cable, simply attach the mount to your glove, followed by the sensor, download the app (iOS or Android), enable Bluetooth on the device being used, and then follow the instructions within the app. Most interestingly though, having literally seen the evolution of the app from Zepp 1 to Zepp 2, it can be argued that no other swing analyzer on the market is undergoing such constant evolution and tweaking, a good thing considering the rate at which we see technology change and become obsolete in our everyday lives. While this reviewer has tested several different swing analyzers on the market, none has streamlined and simplified the setup process as much as Zepp. When it comes to technology, ease of setup and use is always of paramount importance. You can even compare your swing to the pros. Zepp offers an incredible set of 3D and video analysis features that give you instant feedback on club position and biomechanics. Measure the most important aspects of your golf swing, then analyze and improve each one. Welcome to the future of wearable sports technology. Because data alone is not enough. That’s why, at Zepp, we are committed to developing the advanced 3D visuals, actionable insights and interactive training tools needed to truly transform your game. That soon expanded into a broader mission of helping athletes improve their performance, boost their confidence and reach their maximum potential. (Once an athlete, always an athlete, right?) But more specifically, we’re athletes who are driven by science and innovation. We began our journey with a simple quest: to bring meaningful data to sports. Zepp sent both versions of their sensors into THP for a closer look at just what they bring to the table for golfers. This is where we have seen technology begin to provide a viable option for golfers, and Zepp as a company is trying to be a leader there through their Smart Coach training system in coordination with the Zepp 1 and Zepp 2 swing analyzers. The swing is clearly the most analyzed aspect of the game, and while lessons from a PGA Professional are always the safest road to improvement, the accessibility and affordability isn’t always there. As such, it’s no wonder that we continue to see these aspects working their way into extracurricular activities, and golf is a perfect example. Today, convenience and mobility trump most everything when it comes to our day to day lives. The roller itself has a series of stripe indents across it, and is coated with the player's ink when their tank isn't empty. The ends of the paint roller are covered with black disks. The supports curve around to make a handle at the end of the tank, looking like a handlebar from a bike, having what resembles a brake lever on the back. The roller frame has red supports on either side connecting it to the ink tank. The frame of the roller resembles that of a bicycle, and the ink tank is connected to it by a bike's bottle holder, and the tank itself is designed to look like a sports bottle.
